About the event
This walk will be led by Chris Hall of the Scarborough Archaeological and Historical Society. Starting at the main entrance to St Mary's church, the tour will start by setting some of the townscape context.
The tour is due to start at 2:00pm with numbers limited to 20.
Chris has been a member of the Society since 1976 and for much of that time has been a committee member, taking on the roles of Secretary for 10 years, Chairman, Vice-president and 37 years as Field Officer. He took part in his first significant excavation with Durham University at Piercebridge in 1971 and since then has taken part in at least 200 projects in Scarborough and beyond, many of them as director or co-director.
