About the event

Join Chris Hall for a guided walk looking at the cemetery buildings and the memorials to a number of architects and builders who were involved in the 19th century development of Scarborough

 

Dean Road cemetery, which opened in 1857, was designed by J P Pritchett and Sons a practice which was one of the foremost specialists in the design of cemeteries at the time. It is also the burial place of several people such as architects, engineers and builders, who were influential in the development of 19th century Scarborough.


This event is a joint event between SAHS and the Friends of Dean Road Cemetery and forms part of the Heritage Open Days 2026. The event is free to attend but limited places are available.
